Hi,

I am Ellis R. Jones, I was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA, July 8, 1931.

I always like to say, "Raised in Raleigh's Subdivison, Chavis Heights, N. C., (A Federal Housing Project)."

I was honored by being ordained a Deacon(First Baptist Church,Raleigh,Capital Square),over forty

plus years ago, now emeritus.

After some trying/convincing, I finally married my childhood/classmate, sweetheart, Ora Lassiter.

We are in our 48th year of bliss. My only son william B Jones (Pola) is an Engineer, has his own business, Fairfax, Va.

A couple of daughters, Ellis Deborah Jones Hodges (Norman), is a Preacher of the LIVING WORD.

Florine lassiter McAllister (William), Housemother for the State of North Carolina, School for the Blind, Raleigh,N.C.

I graduated from Wahsington High School in Raleigh (1950), and attended Shaw University one year on a football scholarship.

After High School, I worked for Edwards and Broughton Co (now defunt) in Raleigh,

for nine years, before being employed by the U.S. Post Office (12 yrs) in Raleigh

Than Postmaster Atlantic Beach, N. C. (18yrs) In my choosen occupation (Post Office),

I was first in my class to work in the air mail section, I was first in my class to work

the Register Section, I was first in my class to work in the Railway Tranfser Office (29 days).

I was first in my class to work as a Manager of a substation

(Crabtree Valley) and the first in my class to be promoted Postmaster (Atlantic Beach,N.C.-18 yrs.)

I have enough to do (vol work), delivering home bound meals, hospital, bingo caller, nursing home, all my masonic houses etc,.

But if you ever meet the gung-ho small town Police Chief Jeff Clark, you will see the love his fellow Officers have for him, and he for them,

you would try to aid, and help him to "PROTECT AND SERVE" our community.

Now please don't take all of the above as a bragging statement it is not intended to be so.

I am 74 years of age, and it is intended (I hope) to let you know help is needed, and you to can give a little time for your community.
